Terms and Conditions

Please take the time to read through these carefully before confirming your booking.

As a small, one-person business, I try to be as flexible as possible to accommodate the needs of all attendees. However in order to maintain a viable income, these terms need to be adhered to.

1. Booking and Payment

1.1. All bookings have a 25% deposit that is required to secure the session. This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable, and is applicable to private group bookings, and events organised by Adventure Hat.

1.2. The remaining balance must be made no later than 21 days prior to the commencement of the activity. Failure to make payment may result in the cancellation of your booking, and your place being made available to someone else.

2. Cancellation and Refund Policy

2.1. Cancellations made by the client more than 21 days before the activity will result in a refund of the total fee, minus the 25% deposit.

2.2. Cancellations made by the attendee within 21 days of the activity are non-refundable. This is applicable to all types of activity booked.

2.3. Private group bookings: the agreed fee at the time of booking remains the same for the maximum number of people agreed to attend.

2.4. If Adventure Hat cancels the activity due to adverse weather conditions, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances outside the control of Adventure Hat, an alternative date will be offered, or a full refund offered.

2.5. Adventure Hat is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by the client as a result of cancellation (e.g., travel expenses, accommodation).

3. Client Responsibilities and Safety

3.1. Attendees must ensure they are physically fit and properly equipped for the activity. Mountain and water-based activities all carry a potential for personal injury and death. By booking with Adventure Hat you agree that you are aware and accepting of these risks, and are responsible for your own actions that go against the instruction of Adventure Hat.

3.2. Clients must follow all instructions provided by Adventure Hat. Failure to do so may result in termination of the activity without a refund. Adventure Hat will take all reasonable precautions to ensure your safety, but you agree that the mountain leader cannot be held liable for any incidents that occur during the activity.

3.3. On booking an activity, attendees are responsible for informing the mountain leader of any medical conditions, allergies, or other health issues that could impact their safety or the safety of the group.

4. Insurance

4.1. Clients are strongly advised to have personal travel and accident insurance that covers outdoor and mountain activities, including emergency rescue and evacuation.

4.2. Adventure Hat holds professional liability insurance, but this does not replace the need for personal insurance coverage.

5. Weather and Conditions

5.1. Mountain weather in the UK can change rapidly and unpredictably. Adventure Hat reserves the right to alter or cancel the activity based on their assessment of the conditions.

5.2. In the event of significant changes to the itinerary or activity due to weather or safety concerns, Adventure Hat will make every effort to offer a suitable alternative. These decisions are being made for the safety of everyone taking part in activities.

6. Amendments

6.1. Adventure Hat reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of any significant changes prior to their booking.

By booking and participating in the activity, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
